Electronic Billing

About Electronic Billing

If you want to get rid of stacks of paper and streamline your bill-paying process, sign up for IREA’s Electronic Billing (eBill). It’s free, secure, and very easy to use.

After you sign up, your bill will be delivered to your e-mail address as an attached PDF. You don’t have to go to a website and remember a username or password to get your bill. Just click on the PDF, answer a security question, and save or print your bill.

From there, you can pay your bill any way that works best for you:

  • Secure Funds Transfer from within the eBill PDF
  • Automatic Bill Pay. If you’re also signed up for Automatic Bill Pay, your eBill will show the date when funds are deducted from your account. Remember, paying your bill through Automatic Bill Pay is free.
  • Online or Pay by Phone
  • Mail through the U.S. Postal Service
  • Convenience Pay

How to Sign Up

All we need is your name, account number and e-mail address to sign up for eBill. You can also fill out your e-mail address on your payment stub or directly contact your local IREA office. IREA will never share your email address.

Please enter the word you see in the image below:

Automatic Bill Pay

If you want to make sure your electric bill is paid on time every month — without having to remember to mail the payment — then sign up for automatic bill pay. Using your checking or savings account, this free option pays your electric bill every month on a set date noted on your bill.

To sign up, just download the Automatic Payment Authorization form then mail it to: 5496 North US HWY 85,  Sedalia, CO 80135; or fax it to 303-663-9308.

Pay Online, By Phone, or By QR Code

If you are a residential customer, paying your electric bill online, by phone, or by QR code is easy and secure through Western Union Payment Services. All you need is your account number and mailing ZIP code.

Pay Online

You have two online payment options: Credit/debit card or funds transfer from your checking, savings or money market account. IREA accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and debit cards with a STAR, NYCE or PULSE logo. To pay your bill online, click here.

Pay by Phone

To pay by phone, call 303-688-3100, or toll free: 800-332-9540, and follow the prompts.

When you pay online or by phone, your account will reflect a $2.95 Western Union convenience fee. To avoid the fee, pay your bill with IREA’s free Automatic Bll Pay or sign up for Electronic Billing (see previous tabs above) and take advantage of the free and secure funds transfer option from within the eBill.

While online and phone credit card payments are only available to residential customers, if you are a commercial customer, you can still take advantage of online and phone funds transfer payments.

Pay by QR Code

Paying Your Bill Now is Even Easier!

IREA has added the option to pay your bill by using the QR code that is located on the stub portion of your bill. Simply scan the image with your smartphone and you will be automatically connected to the Western Union website so that you can pay your bill online. In order to use this option, you must first have a QR reader app installed on your smartphone. The $2.95 fee to pay your bill via Western Union still applies when using the QR code.

Budget Billing

If you have ever had a couple of back-to-back sky-high electric bills — either due to a prolonged cold snap or sweltering hot days — and want to avoid the spiked bills, sign up for Budget Billing.

Budget Billing gives you the security of knowing the amount you can expect to pay for 11 months of the year. The 12th month is a settlement month, where you may pay less or more, depending on your usage during the previous 11 months. When you sign up for Budget Billing, your set amount is calculated based on your previous 12 months’ use.

Because the cost of electricity, lifestyle and weather can change your usage — and IREA can’t always predict these changes — we will periodically review your Budget Billing account throughout your 12-month cycle. Sometimes we find that adjustments are needed to your account, to avoid a big settlement in the 12th month. If that’s the case, we’ll contact you with a newly calculated payment.

If you have been an IREA residential customer for the previous 12 months with a zero or credit balance, you can sign up for Budget Billing.

To sign up, call 303-688-3100, or toll free: 800-332-9540.  After an installment payment plan agreement has been signed, budget billing will begin with the next billing cycle. This agreement will remain in effect for the next 12 months, and will renew annually, unless you send IREA a written notice terminating the plan or service — or if payment is not received by the normal due date.

Convenience Pay

If you want to pay your bill at a local store, bring your bill stub, along with cash or a check, to any of the following Convenience Pay locations. Keep the receipt for your records, which will reflect a separate $1.50 transaction fee. While your payment may be deducted immediately from your account when paying by check, it can take up to five business days to post to your IREA account.

Please note that Convenience Pay is only available if you are current on your account. If you are past due on your account, you can make your payment through our other options.
