Intermountain Rural Electric Association is currently seeking a team-oriented individual to fill our Benefits & Compensation Specialist position in our Sedalia location. With over 151,000 members, Intermountain Rural Electric Association is one of the largest member-owned electric utility cooperatives in the United States.
This is an exempt, regular full-time position working a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. Normal hours of business are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., working an optional 9/80 schedule.
The Benefits & Compensation Specialist is responsible to the Human Resources Director with tasks related to human resource management and benefits administration. This position is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including welfare benefits and 401(k) plan. In addition, assist with onboarding, monitor legislation and benefit trends, Wellness program activities, and ensure compensation and benefit plans are cost-effective and competitive.
Qualified individuals must have a bachelorâ€™s degree in Human Resources or business administration or equivalent experience and training and 5+ years of advanced knowledge of benefits administration principles and practices, as well as knowledge of Human Resources Management concepts. Preferred qualifications: Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or (SHRM-CP) certification. You must have the ability to work independently as well as work as a team player. This position requires exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Applicants must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications; particularly MS Word and Excel.
