Intermountain Rural Electric Association is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill our Customer Service Representative I position in our Sedalia location.  With over 151,000 members, Intermountain Rural Electric Association is one of the largest member-owned electric utility cooperatives in the United States.

The primary duties of this position are to perform tasks related to billing consumers and handling consumer complaints, inquiries and requests.¬† Duties are routine and involve the application of standard procedures, regulations and tariffs.¬† There is some contact with employees in other departments and considerable contact with consumers both in the office and on the telephone. Works with confidential data concerning consumer accounts which, if disclosed, could be detrimental to the Association’s interests.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. Call Center hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Shifts will vary depending on phone coverage needed.  May require occasional overtime hours.

This job requires normal mental and visual attention. Basic aptitude in verbal comprehension, verbal reasoning, numerical ability, and visual speed and accuracy are also required. The duties and tasks involve sedentary work and may require the ability to lift a maximum of 20 pounds. Physical demands also include good manual dexterity.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. One year of customer service experience is a requi­site, including answering phone calls and correspondence, and handling consumer accounts. Excel­lent communication and problem solving skills are necessary with a strong drive to provide excep­tional customer service.  Applicants must have basic PC computer skills.
