IREA 2021 Director Elections
IREA will hold an election for three (3) seats on the Board of Directors in 2021. The seats for districts 3, 5 and 7 will be voted on by IREA customers within those districts.
Candidate bios for each district are included with mailed ballots, and can be viewed by clicking the candidate names below.
Ballots will be mailed by March 25 to customers in any of those three districts in which there is a contested election. Mailed ballots will include detailed instructions, but please note the following:
â€˘ Ballots must be received by the independent election vendor, Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS), by 5 p.m. Friday, April 23. The U.S. Postal Service is experiencing significant delays, so we recommend returning your ballot to SBS as early as possible.
â€˘ Ballots must be sent directly to SBS. They cannot be mailed or delivered to any IREA office or deposited in our drop boxes.
â€˘ Requests for replacement ballots from SBS can be made via (866) 909-3549 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
â€˘ Eligible voters can vote in-person at our annual meeting, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at our Sedalia headquarters, 5496 N. U.S. Highway 85. Registration is from 9 to 10 a.m. Voting by proxy is not permitted.
IREA is a nonprofit cooperative owned by its customer/members and organized as a corporation under Colorado law. The associationâ€™s service territory is divided into seven geographic districts based on population. Members within each district elect a fellow member to serve on the associationâ€™s Board of Directors and represent their interests regarding IREA business and policies. Directors serve four-year terms. Elections for Districts 1, 2, 4 and 6 were held in 2019 and will be held again in 2023.
