Intermountain Rural Electric Association is currently seeking a team-oriented individual to fill our Journeyman Lineman position in our Conifer location. With over 151,000 members, Intermountain Rural Electric Association is one of the largest member-owned electric utility cooperatives in the United States.
This is a regular full-time position working a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. Normal hours of business are 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, working a 9/80 schedule. This position does require overtime as needed. On-call rotation is also required.
The primary duties of this position are semi-routine involving an extensive practical knowledge of duties related to electric power lines. Most duties are performed within the limits of standard practice but there are occasions where a variety of procedures could be used and judgment must be considered to determine what action should be taken. A supervisor may not always be present, thus requiring independent action by the Lineman. This job requires normal mental and visual attention. Basic aptitude in verbal comprehension, verbal reasoning, numerical ability, and visual speed and accuracy are also required. The duties and tasks involve sedentary work and may require the ability to lift a maximum of 20 pounds. Physical demands also include good manual dexterity.
Successful applicants must possess the ability to perform job duties safely and efficiently. Applicants must also represent the Association in a professional manner. A high school diploma or equivalent is required plus at least four years of apprenticeship training as a Lineman in the construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution lines. A valid Colorado Commercial Driverâ€™s License (CDL) and DOT medical certificate are required and must be maintained.
As this is an experienced Journey Lineman position, apprentice Linemen with less than 4 yearsâ€™ experience need not apply.
