Intermountain Rural Electric Association is currently seeking a team-oriented individual to fill our Journeyman Lineman position in our Sedalia location. With over 151,000 members, Intermountain Rural Electric Association is one of the largest member-owned electric utility cooperatives in the United States.

This is a regular full-time position working a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. Normal hours of business are 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, working a 9/80 schedule. This position does require overtime as needed. On-call rotation is also required.

The primary duties of this position are semi-routine involving an extensive practical knowledge of duties related to electric power lines. Most duties are performed within the limits of standard practice but there are occasions where a variety of procedures could be used and judgment must be considered to determine what action should be taken. A supervisor may not always be present, thus requiring independent action by the Lineman.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required plus at least four years of apprenticeship training as a Lineman in the construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution lines. A valid Colorado Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and DOT medical certificate are required and must be maintained.

As this is an experienced Journey Lineman position, apprentice Linemen with less than 4 years’ experience need not apply.
