Intermountain Rural Electric Association is one the largest and fastest growing Rural Electric Associations in the country — 10th largest, to be exact! We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated Journeyman Lineman to work out of our Woodland Park location.
High school diploma or equivalent is required plus at least four years of apprenticeship training as a Journeyman Lineman or apprentice in the construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution lines. DOL certified apprenticeship program required.
A valid unrestricted class A Colorado Commercial Driver’s License and a DOT medical certificate are required and must be maintained.
Supervision is provided by the Line Superintendent to ensure that all job requirements are accomplished. A supervisor may not always be present, thus requiring independent action by the Lineman.
When working on a crew, general guidance and direction are received from the Working Foreman. When engaged in service work, the employee plans and arranges own work receiving only general direction from the Working Foreman and or the Line Superintendent.
This job requires careful and strict mental and visual attention, especially when working with high voltage lines. Basic aptitudes in numerical ability, numerical reasoning, and spatial awareness are also required. The duties and tasks require the ability to routinely lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift a maximum of 100 pounds.
