Intermountain Rural Electric Association is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill our Safety Inspector position in our Sedalia location. With over 151,000 customers, Intermountain Rural Electric Association is one of the largest member-owned electric utility cooperatives in the United States.

QUALIFICATIONS:¬†Responsible to the Safety Program Coordinator, the Safety Inspector will be tasked with ensuring the Association’s safety policies and procedures are implemented and followed throughout the organization, with a specific focus on system operations. The responsibilities of this position are system wide with an emphasis on the development, implementation and communication of the Association’s safety policies and procedures with respect to field/operations job duties and requirements.

BASIC DUTIES: responsible for presenting job safety and training meetings on areas that will improve or reinforce compliance to safe working practices to employees. Conducts field audits of electrical system work practices and provides corrective action and assistance to ensure a safe working environment.Conducts regularly scheduled and random safety investigations; notifies the appropriate authority in the Association of the existence of unsafe equipment and working conditions. Corrects or recommends actions to the Safety Program Coordinator for any unsafe conditions.
