Intermountain Rural Electric Association is currently seeking a team-oriented individual to fill our Standards Specialist position in our Sedalia location. With over 151,000 members, Intermountain Rural Electric Association is one of the largest member-owned electric utility cooperatives in the United States.
This is a regular full-time position working a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. Normal hours of business are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., working an optional 9/80 schedule.
The Standards Specialist is responsible to the Planning Director for engineering related tasks associated with the materials, construction units, and construction standards distribution and transmission facilities. Provides technical expertise to assigned projects including the analysis, evaluation and resolution of specific engineering problems.
Duties require knowledge of electrical engineering design and construction practices of electric systems. The position requires analysis of facts to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practice. Applicants must have a working knowledge of N.E.S.C., N.E.C construction regulations and design standards.
A Bachelorâ€™s degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent years of experience in the electrical engineering field is required. Minimum of five years of experience in electric power engineering, standards, construction and project management. A working knowledge of computers including CAD, database management, spreadsheets, and word processing is a must. Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Milsoftâ€™s WindMil and Light Table programs and Aspen OneLiner programs is desirable. A Colorado Registered Professional Engineer is desired.
Must have a valid Colorado Driver License.
