A high school diploma or equivalent and at least three years of experience as a System Operator, or five years of extensive field operations experience in an electric utility. Strong knowledge and education in the area of electrical transmission and distribution system operating concepts and practices. NERC Operator Certification as a Reliability Coordinator or Transmission Operator is required and must be maintained.
Familiarity with the Association BES transmission system and distribution system. Knowledge of Association Procedures including safety practices, operating practices, operating procedures and approved work methods, switching maps, one-line diagrams, and all types of substation equipment. Ability to operate an EMS / SCADA system as well as other control center computer applications. Has experience with PC computers and common business software. Must have the ability to handle stress and work efficiently during emergency and heavy workload conditions. Ability to handle several tasks at once. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in oral communications.
